Cherry Colored Funk
She has closed her eyes and stepped just out of reach. Her pink hair falls in thick, hand-sculpted ribbons, and a single strand of cream plaster drifts down to her cheek like a resting hand. Below, her garment splits in two: warm cream on one side, cool gray on the other. One half she shows the world. The other half she keeps.
Named for the dreamy Cocteau Twins song, Cherry Colored Funk is about the calm that comes from knowing which parts of yourself to share and which to hold close. Up close, every ridge of Plaster Knit catches the light. From across the room, she reads as pure softness in blush, cream and dove gray.
Tall and slender at 25" × 55", she was made for the places other art can’t go: a hallway, a stairwell, or the narrow wall between two windows.
